The 27th “FLTRP-ETIC Cup” National College English Debate Competition Northwest University Campus Selection Tournament was held on March 15-16 at the Chang’an campus. A total of 32 participants and 16 teams from various departments and majors, including the School of Foreign Languages, School of Economics and Management, Law School, School of Public Administration, Faculty of Liberal Arts, School of Information Science and Technology, and School of Mathematics, took part in the competition. Twelve judges from Shaanxi Normal University, Xi’an University of Finance and Economics, and Northwest University were invited to serve as evaluators for the event.
The campus selection tournament was filled with excitement and intensity, with several thrilling moments. The 32 contestants presented their unique perspectives on diverse topics from various fields such as science and technology, economics, humanities, society, and media. This fully showcased the solid language skills, broad international vision, rich knowledge base, and strong overall strength of the students of Northwest University.
After intense competition, Li Hong’en from our school and Yuan Chen from the Law School emerged as champions in the final round. They will represent Northwest University in the regional semi-finals of the 27th “FLTRP-ETIC Cup” National College English Debate Competition for the Southwest region.
