On March 12, 2025, with the assistance of Fenglin Community in Guodu Subdistrict, the SFL at Northwest University partnered with Zhenmei Kindergarten in Chang’an District, Xi’an, to organize a “Learn from Lei Feng” community service activity. The event aimed to promote the spirit of Lei Feng through hands-on education while fostering environmental awareness and social responsibility. A total of 30 kindergarten students and 10 SFL student volunteers participated.
The event began with a campus tour led by volunteers, during which the children visited statues of Confucius and Aristotle on Northwest University’s campus. Through lively explanations and engaging Q&A sessions, the volunteers introduced the historical significance of these figures in a child-friendly manner. Following the tour, the children, with guidance from the volunteers, hung hand-painted tree protection signs on campus trees. This initiative encouraged the campus community to cherish greenery and contribute to building a sustainable environment. In the Second Classroom, volunteers shared stories of Lei Feng’s life, helping the children understand the values of selflessness and compassion. The activity concluded with interactive games, where laughter and enthusiasm filled the room, leaving a memorable impression on all participants.
This event not only allowed the kindergarteners to learn about Lei Feng’s spirit and environmental stewardship but also provided SFL students with a platform to fulfill their volunteer commitments. Together, they embodied the ethos of “dedication, friendship, mutual assistance, and progress.”
