To enhance the friendship between faculty and students and to experience the charm of the national sport, our school held a faculty-student table tennis fellowship tournament on the afternoon of October 23rd, at the Faculty Lounge on the sixth floor of the West Campus Building. Attending the event were the Secretary of the school's Party Committee, Zhao Zhihou, members of the school's trade union, as well as faculty and student representative teams.
The tournament was conducted in a mixed team format, featuring five events: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles, with each match played in a best-of-three format. Before the matches, both faculty and students had a thorough warm-up, and teams carefully planned their line-ups. Throughout the competition, both teachers and students displayed high energy and calm composure, executing high toss serves, backhand serves, forehand smashes, and penhold cross shots, showcasing excellent competitive form. The venue was abuzz with outstanding plays, with applause and cheers echoing as faculty and students encouraged each other, creating a warm, harmonious, and lively atmosphere.
Before the tournament, Secretary Zhao Zhihou encouraged both teachers and students to maintain regular physical exercise, enhance their health and well-being through sports activities, and deepen emotional exchanges through participation in various fellowship tournaments, thereby fostering a harmonious and amicable faculty-student relationship. After more than three hours of vigorous competition, the participating faculty and students not only fully exchanged ping pong skills and tactics but also, through the small ball, brought each other closer, deepening the friendship between them. The faculty-student table tennis fellowship tournament concluded successfully amidst laughter and joy.
