Delegation from Fukuoka University Visits Our School

On March 12, 2025, a delegation from the Faculty of Law at Fukuoka University, Japan, visited our school. The two sides held in-depth discussions on cooperation regarding talent cultivation, academic exchange, and talent recruitment. The meeting was also attended by various departments within Northwest University, including the Office of International Cooperation, the History School, and the Institute of Middle Eastern Studies.

Attendees at the meeting included Takayuki Hirozawa, Dean of the Graduate School of Law at Fukuoka University; Li Chen, President of the Fukuoka University Chinese Alumni Association; Li Xiaoyang, Liaison Officer for Fukuoka University in China; Cao Ruonan, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages (School of Country and Region Studies) at Northwest University; Wang Xingang, Professor at the History School; Bai Lichao, Associate Dean of the History School; Yan Wei, Deputy Director of the Institute of Middle Eastern Studies; and He Jing, Director of the International Projects Office at the Office of International Cooperation.

At the beginning, Dean Cao Ruonan of SFL warmly welcomed the delegation from the Faculty of Law at Fukuoka University. She also gave a detailed introduction to the academic programs and research directions of our school. Following this, Dean Takayuki Hirozawa introduced the basic information about the Faculty of Law at Fukuoka University, highlighting the strengths and unique features of the law school in legal education, as well as in the fields of international politics and international relations research. He expressed a strong wish for academic exchange and collaboration with Chinese universities.

Professor Wang Xingang reviewed the history of exchanges between the two universities and traced the past achievements in academic collaboration. The History School and the Institute of Middle Eastern Studies introduced their research exchanges with Japan and discussed the potential for future cooperation. The Office of International Cooperation affirmed the feasibility of joint student training and expert visits programs, provided policy clarifications for further collaboration.

The two sides had lively talks about potential cooperation in academic exchanges and joint master’s and doctoral programs, and agreed unanimously that the two universities have broad cooperation opportunities and potential in various fields, and that such collaboration would enable resource sharing and complementary advantages. Both parties expressed their expectation for more substantial collaborative projects in the future to jointly promote Sino-Japanese academic exchange, research progress, and talent cultivation.
