The School of Foreign Languages, Henan Polytechnic University Visits Our School

On March 19, 2025, at 14:00, a delegation of five members from the School of Foreign Languages at Henan Polytechnic University, led by Dean Li Huimin, visited our school for a research exchange. The delegation included Vice Dean Wu Min, Head of the English Department Liu Tinghua, Head of the Japanese Department Duan Jixu, and Country and Region Studies Leader Hao Kui. The research exchange meeting was hosted by Dean Cao Ruonan, and attended by the heads of the English and Japanese Departments, the Director of the MTI Center, the heads of the University English Teaching Research Departments 1 and 2, and the Dean’s assistants. The primary focus of this meeting was to address the urgent issues regarding the current development of foreign language disciplines and to explore solutions together. The two sides discussed strategies for transformation and development paths. Key topics included country and region studies, discipline construction, professional adjustments and optimization, faculty development, and high-level research output.

First, Dean Cao Ruonan warmly welcomed the visiting delegation from the School of Foreign Languages at Henan Polytechnic University. She provided a comprehensive introduction to our school’s overall situation, including its infrastructure, discipline development, faculty construction, talent cultivation, organized research, collaborative development, and reward mechanisms. Dean Cao emphasized the transformation opportunities and practical exploration in the field of country and region studies, as well as the challenges faced by foreign language disciplines. Following this, Dean Li Huimin introduced the basic situation of the School of Foreign Languages at Henan Polytechnic University and its accompanying members, and engaged in in-depth discussions on the topics of exchange. Dean Cao and our participating faculty members also shared their own experiences in teaching practices, country and region-specific research, and the results they have achieved.

The research and exchange meeting concluded in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Both sides expressed that they had gained valuable insights, which not only enhanced mutual understanding but also laid the foundation for future communication, collaboration, and joint efforts to advance the development of foreign language disciplines.
