Delegation from the NWNU Visits Our School

On the afternoon of March 25, 2025, a delegation from the College of Foreign Languages and Literature at Northwest Normal University, led by Vice Dean Li Li, visited our school for research and exchange. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as college English teaching and research, the implementation of practical teaching, teaching incentive mechanisms, as well as characteristic projects and innovative achievements.

Dean Cao Ruonan first warmly welcomed the delegation. She briefly introduced the departments and development status of our school, with a particular focus on sharing the teaching exploration and practical achievements of university English under the background of interdisciplinary integration. Dean Cao pointed out that in the context of the full implementation of the credit system at the university, our college English teaching program, centered around the “student-oriented” philosophy, continuously optimizes course structures, explores diverse teaching models, and steadily advances teaching reforms.

Vice Dean Li Li from the delegation shared their experiences in professional development and university-enterprise cooperation. She introduced the successful experience of the English and Translation programs being approved as national first-class programs, and the Russian program being approved as a provincial first-class program. Furthermore, Vice Dean Li Li shared effective practices of expanding student internship and employment opportunities through university-enterprise cooperation in the Arabic program, as well as their achievements in developing the distinctive Korean language program. She emphasized on the important role of the Chinese-Korean Translation Center in serving local development and enhancing students’ practical abilities.

Following that, Liu Li, the Director of the College English Teaching Department at NWNU, introduced the basic situation of general foreign language teaching at their university, including curriculum design, faculty allocation, and teaching operation mechanisms. She pointed out the practical challenges faced during the teaching process. Director Liu Li specifically showcased the intelligent examination system built on the iFLYTEK platform, which has played a positive role in daily teaching management, process-oriented evaluation, and summative evaluation, enhancing teaching efficiency and management levels.

In the subsequent exchange, both parties had in-depth discussions on topics such as academic competitions, teaching incentive mechanisms, and innovative achievements. This exchange deepened mutual understanding between the two schools and laid a solid foundation for future cooperation in talent cultivation, curriculum development, and teaching reforms.
